«*—, CARDIFF. (From Our Own Correspondent). In general with the rest of Taranaki, the farmers and their assistants are starting- on their busiest season. The cheese factory is in full swim* and everything points to a greater output for the coming season. Several of the local farmers intend entering cows for the butter-fat competition in connection with the Stratford show. This year a different method enables the cows to be milked at home, thus ensuring every competitor being on equal terms. A recent gale damaged Mr. H. Crawford's verandah and the woodshed at the school. The former has been repaired but the latter still-serves as a reminder that the wind can blow "some" at Cardiff
Mr. Brown, the agricultural director, gave an instructive address to a number of the Cardiff farmers about fodder crops and tillage required for them. The Cardiff ladies have despatched all Christmas - gift parcels to the boys at the front, and' are at present engaged in making knitted comforts for the winter campaign. .
