At the Police Court this morning Gunner Charles Clements and Herbert M'Entree were charged with having assaulted Howafd Elliott by striking him with a stick. The Court- was crowded, and there was hooting and cheering When the accused were called. The Magistrate ordered the Court t 0 be cleared. Counsel for accused asked for an adjournment to obtain evidence from Wellington. The Court granted a remand for one week.
