i.: —— ACCOUNTANT ARRESTED FOR ARSEN. By Telegraph.—'Press AasocUUon. Gisborne, Last Night. ,As the sequel to outbreak Qf firi in the office of the Gisborne Gas Com* pany, early this morning, police investigations ara understood to show that tha strong room door was wide open, and inside two ledgers were propped open with tarred sticks. One of the ledgers was recovered partly burned. The safe wa* also found open, and the content* disarranged, ana a fairly considerable turn of money missing. Later Detective McLeod arrested the company's accountant, Frank Parnell, who wa» brought before the magistrate, and charged with afton, in wilfully setting the premise's afire. The police were granted, a reitand for a week. Accused waa admitted to bail, self in £IOO and sureties for a like amount.
