A wireless Russian official . report states: A German dreadnought shelled our patrol squadron off Soelasand and damaged one torpedoer. Subsequently twelve German torpedoers of the newest type penetrated to Soeia rind, engaged tne patrol squadron, and sar.!; the vessel that had already been da..'.iv;cil, the bulk of the c-rew being saved. We sunk an enemy torpedoer, and others of our warships appearing, the enemy turned back. The fleet commander testifies to the Rood firing and stubborn spirit of our trews. Eye witnesses state that two German torpedoers were sunk and two damaged. 'J'hc Germans have been reinforced, and continue to develop their success at Oesel Island. They are endeavoring to capture the batteries at Corel, covering the entrance to t'he Gulf of Riga. GERMANS SUPPLY FINN'S WITH | ARMS. Received Oct. 17, 5.5 p.m. Stockholm, Oct. 16, German submarines were seen off the coast of Finland delivering arms and other war material to Finns to assist in the attack on Petrograd. There is evidence that a German arms depot 'has been established on the Swedish coast. Swedish customs officep found a cargo of arms on a Finnish yacht, but the Finlanders drove bad; the officers with revolvers and sailed away.
