AN ALLEGED CONSPIRACY. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association, Sydney, Oct. 11. In connection with the shooting of the railway fireman Green on August 25, two men were arrested and subsequently discharged. A ni'an named Thorburn and a, woman named Roo were remanded on a charge of conspiring, to sheet the charge on to the discharged men. The Crown Prosecutor alleged that accused put their heads together to secure the £IOOO reward offered in connection with the shooting. (Green was a fireman who refused to join the strikers and continued at work). THE QUEENSLAND COUNCIL. Brisbane, Oct. 11.. The Government has appointed a bunch of nine Laborite members to the Legislative Council. NEW UNIONS FORMED. Sydney, Oct. 11. Fifteen new unions have been formed as a result of the strike, and have applied for registration. Five others have applied for a change of name.
