| KAP'U.VT. (From Our Own Correspondent). There was a good gathering at the Kapuni Hall on Friday evening to attend a social held for the purpose of raising funds for the Soldiers' Comfprts Guild The fancy costumes caused much amusement, those appearing in fancy rags being Messrs Gardiner, Bulmer, Lapp, Nicholls, and Wilton. Mrs. Martin very cleverly carried out the part of a "swagger." The first prize was awarded to Mrs. .Martin and -Mr. Gardiner, the judges being Messrs Lovcll, McKinnon, •anil Mrs. Taylor. The same couple also won the waltzing competition, the judges being Messrs Johnston, Hayward, and McKenna. The Kapuni ladies, as usual, provided a good supper, and Mr. Johnston made a very efficient M.C. Miss Taylor supplied good music for the dancing, while, extras were played by Mesdamcs Benton and Calder, and Misses Gardiner and Spiers.
