Mr. C. E. Bellringer left for Wellington by the mail train on Saturday morning- i #.
A London cable reports the death of Mr. Edmund Dovat, president of the Australian Chamber of Commerce. The death has occurred of Mr George Tattle of Wellington, at the age of 7">, .one of the oldest locally born residents of Wellington. He leaves a family of six sons and four daughters. Mr. H. L. Spratt, who since his return from the war has been acting as military representative on the No. i Wellington Military Service Board, has, says the Star, resigned his appointment ;in order to devote his time to the practice of his profession as a solicitor in Hawera. The following Taranaki men appear in the casualty list published on Saturday morning: Previously reported missing, now reported killed in action—LanceCorporal Alex Wm. Guild (W. ,1. Guild. Pungarehu, father); died as prisoner of war—Frederick John Eastwood (Mrs. A. M. Eastwood. Alton,' wife); in the hospital progress report—Captain E. J. Bramcair (Hawera), Lance-Corporal N. V. Terrill (New ■Plymouth), and Private C. P. P. Hendrickaen (New Plymouth)
