BUTTER OUTPUT PURCHASE.
- AN OFFER RECEIVED, By Wire.—Our Parliamentary Reporter. Wellington, Last Night. Replying to a question put by Mr. H. Okey in the House this afternoon, Mr. Massey said that lie had received a definite offer from the Imperial Government for New Zealand's output of butter for the present season. He could not give the House the details of the offer at the present time. Notices had been tent to the representatives of the butter producers to meet him in WellingtPi l early next week, to consider the offer. Mr. Massey added that he had no further information with respect to cheese, but he had reason to expect that he would receive a reply to his last cablegram early next week—possibly on Monday. It is understood that tho offer made for the butter is slightly lees than Is 5d per pound f.o.b.
