Mrs. Falconer, of Young street, has been notified that her son, William, who was wounded at the Somme battle, arrives in Auckland this month. The Prince of Wales has been created Grand Master, and Lord Lansdowna Chancellor, of the Order of St. Michael and St. George. Mi". James Milne, who has been secretary to the Wellington Farmers' Meat Co. since its inception, has been appointed general manager to the Taranaki Farmers' Meat Company. Mr. Milne will be leaving Masterton for Now Plymouth about the end of the present month,
Miss A. M. Blair, who has been connected with the local Post and Tyeprapli Department for the past five or six years, was the recipient of a presentation recently in the shape of a silver spirit kettle, suitably engraved, from her fellow employees, as a small memento before leaving the setvice. Miss Blair is leaving the department in view of her approaching marriage, and carries the best wishes from all branches for her future welfare. Mr. Charles Harrison and the Misses' Harrison, who are leaving New Plymouth to take up their residence in Wellington, were the guests of a number of their local friends at the residence [of Mr. and Mrs. H. Moon, Gill Street, on Thursday evening. During the course of the evening a farewell presentation was made to Sir. Harrison, whose friends took the opportunity of expressing their appreciation of their guests and of bidding them farewell, God-speed, aud every success in their new surroundings.
