Reserved judgment was delivered this morning by Mr. M'Carthy, S.M., in the case against Duncan Nevin, manager of Williamson's for having caused to be inserted in a newspaper an advertisement of the cinematograph film "Intolerance," by which the newspaper became an indecent document. The Magistrate said the advertisement in his opinion was inserted to create the impression in the public mind that the film "Intolerance" was blatantly obscene in the hope of swelling the number of visitors to the show. Thus it had a mischievous immoral tendency and the newspaper in which it was inserted became therefore an indecent document. Defendant was convicted and fined £5 and costs £2 !)s. Security for an appeal was fixed.
