As a sequel to the strike, th<> Masters and Engineers' Association has withdrawn from the Labor and Political Labor League. The Industrial Court has cancelled the registrations of the coast district section of the Federated Enginedrivers' Association. It has also cancelled tho preference clause in the Cold Storage Workers Union's award. An important development has taken place in the seamen's trouble at Newcastle. Forty seamen have signed on for two interstate steamers and one overseas vessel and others are applying for work. .Melbourne, Oct. U'. Owing to tho non-resumption of work by the employees, steps are being taken to wind up the Jumbunna coal mine. DISCONTENT STILL EVIDENT. Heceived Oct. 4, 10.50 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 4. Although further northern collieries opened to-dny, discontent is still evident in certain districts. The Kurri Kurri "miners decided not to resume on the Maitland iields, maintaining that they are asked to accept humiliating and unsatisfactory conditions.. Mr. Fuller has announced that until, the men are prepared to resume work in all the mines in a particular group, none will be opened.
The Federated Seamen and Firemen have decided not to resume ■ until the whariies come to terms, not because of any grievance against the shipping com-. panies, but owing to the question of sailing with cargo loaded by non-unionists, Another meeting has been fixed for Monday.
