INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Special Correspondent)
,/flie Scotch evening and day (Friday and Saturday) is drawing close, and already the committee are conjuring up visions of what Inglewood will be on ■this occasion. Provided the weather keeps good the financial results are assured. Whilst asking a business man how things were in Inglewood he said that business generally is sound, but he thought the writer might give the Chamber of Commerce a shake up. The Chamber was enjoying a long sleep, and probably had not held one meeting for over .twelve months. He stated that the Leppcr Road was nearly completed, and the Chamber should make the most of this in pushing on Inglewood's claim to a share of the mountain tourist traffic. Tlio distance from Inglewood to the Mountain House compared with New Plymouth is several miles in favor of Inglewood, and this matter is one that should engage the attention of the Chamber. There are other matters also concerning the welfare of Inglewood which could be discussed.
