Butter.—The Food Controller is releasing to importers one half of their butter ex Osterley, which was commandeered in April at 200s for salted and 20!)s for uiisalted. The quantity released will be about 25,000 boxes, which has already been practically all absorbed. Silver.—The decline in the price of silver is attributed to the cessation of the Chinese demand. A few of the remaining American holders are realising stocks.
