SUSPECTED CASE OF SMALLPOX. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Oisborne, Yesterday. Questioned to-day regarding a case of suspected smallpox, the Mayor stated that medical opinion was divided, and it was necessary to await developments. The Court of Appeal is hearing aigument in the case Ann Lockwood versus the Auckland Electric Tramway Company, a claim for damages for injuries received on May 26 last through a tramway accident. The question is whether ihe company is liable for an accident which occurred through the nmtorman falling oil' the ear after starting on a down grade. The ease turns on whether ,he was negligent. Wellington, Last Night. The Appeal Court has reserved its decision in the case Lockwood v. Auckland Tramway Company.
