REV. H. ELLIOTT'S LETTERS.

MR. ISITT'S REPLY. The Auckland Baptist Minister's Association last week passed a resolution expressing their "unmitigated reprobation" of the remarks made in Parliament iby Mr. L. M. Isitt in connection with the letters written by the Bev. Howard El.liott regarding the Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Isitt has replied as follows:—''Gentlemen, I note your unmitigated reprobation. That reprobation attaches no disgrace to me. I am sorry that a number of Christian men can be so carried away by religious prejudice as to justify such methods and such statements as those adopted by Mr. Elliott. The spirit that readily swallows such awful charges against Catholic inins and priests is clearly not the spirit of Christ. I do not like being at variance with you, but I certainly prefer to bear your condemnation than to be guilty of your spirit."
