INGLEWOOD.
Inglewood, Sept. 2fi. The funeral of the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Morrison, of Ratapiko, took placo at the Inglelvood cemetery this afternoon. Despite the vicious weather there were numerous friends at the graveside. The byrial ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Ireland. Presbyterian minister. Much sympathy has been extended to the sorrowing parents in their bereavement, as the little girl had not been ailing very long. Less than IS months ago thev lost a child through a. drowning accident, and the present demise following has made the lot of the parents particularly hard.
This afternoon I had a look in at tho Inglewood public library, and\was agreeably surprised at the cosy quarters and the comprehensive display of books. Tho present librarian, Mrs. Evans, has been in charge for 2 1 /, years, and informs me there are over 5000 hooks available for selection. The Inglewood school children are particularly well catered for with a range of 500 books that they may read without fee, parents only being required to see that the books are not damaged unnecessarily and returned promptly. There are over 100 subscribers to the main library, which, besides including scientific works, fiction, etc., also has the latest magazines available. It is a pity the general public are not aware of tho fine library and the great variety of Home and Dominion papers ready for use in tiie reading rooms. The Inglewood Dairy Company is making 40 boxes of butter daily. This is a little less than for the same period last year, mainly attributed to the fact that several herds have been reduced in number.
