A BIG ATTRACTION AT THE EMPIRE TO-NIGHT.

A big "Mutual" Film Corporation feature '•The Diamond Runners" heads the new programme at the Empire theatre to-night. "The Diamond Runners" is a departure from the usual detective drama and breaks new ground in plot and method. The popular actress Miss Helen Holmes, well kuov; i; for her daring exploits in numerous railroad dramas, gives a forceful and remarkably clever performance as a member of an international diamond smuggling gang, who buy uncut dia'monds by illicit means in'the mines of South Africa, and smuggle theni into the United Stato3, making enormous profits. A strong and exciting story has been written around the efforts o f the gang to get the diamonds away, and the work of the Secret Service beat them. The programme also include* a fine Gold Rooster feature "When Love was Blind" featuring the popular star Florence La Badie, a good Australian Gazette and a splendid picture showing the work done by "The Women Munitioners." This programme will be showr to-night and to-morrow night only.

TWO SPLENDID FEATURE PICTURES AT EVERYBODY'S; The splendid double feature pro. gramme at Everybody's last evening was well up to the high ; standard set and maintained at the superior! photoplay theatre. The fine Blue-bird picture "The Yaqui" is full of sustained interest and crowded with the adventure of the fascinating and picturesque life of Mexico, that land redolent of the cactui and sage to say nothing of the excitement of the regular rebellions. The second feature is a Moss-Frohman drama "The Conquest of Canaan" adopted froc the book by Booth Tarkington. . Tlrs is also a fine story with a keen spice of adventure and a leaven of true love. Edith Talliaierrs and Jack Skomll aro the leading artists, and picture (foers will want tc sec more of them after their portrayal in this fine picture, . '

TO-MORROW. JUNE CAPRICE IN THE FOX-FILM "THE MISCHIEF MAKER" Pretiy girls in bunches and, in all style? and materials of pyjamas romp and giggle through many of the scenes in ''The Mischief Maker." A live reel Wiliium Fox comedy-drama with June Caprice as a particularly irrepressible specimen of the high-spirited boarding school miss. This is classed as the best picture in which the popular June has yet appeared and is billed for Everybody's to-morrow and Friday.
