WAR CASUALTIES. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. Sydney, Sept. 24. The Australian war casualties total 107,270, of whom 31,435 are dead. EMPLOYERS' FEDERATION CONFERENCE. Melbourne, Sept. 24. ine annual conference of the interstate Employers' Federation resolved that far-reaching alterations were necessary in the industrial laws. The conference. favored the appointment of a non-political Royal Commission empowered to fix basic scales of wages in various districts throughout Australia. It also adopted a resolution against the Government investing public money in industrial enterprises and against further loan expenditure during tha war, except for war purposes or completing urgent public works.
