ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
A MAORI SOLDIER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. •Napier, Sept. 21. An unidentified Maori, aged 36, was found dead in a house at Port Ahuriri this morning. He was hanging from the stairs by a black silk handkerchief. Deceased is believed to have come from Oputoki and was known locally as George. Appearances suggest that he had been dead for three days. He left a note saying that he intended to take his life owing to ill-health.
