Receipts increased by £G14,23S and expenditure by £3IS,32" over last year, the deficit being £'115,850. The estimated revenue for the coming year is £5,515 321, and th« expenditure £5,508,778. Increased tax ation is expected to yield a further £28949. TAXING ELIGIBLES. Received Sept. 20, 10.55 p.m. Melbourne, Sept. 20. ' The House of representatives' agreed to p. super-tax of 25 per cent, oil the income tax*. The Government's amended proposals for the repatriation tax provide that single men and widowers over twentyone, without children, shall pay five pounds yearly cr five per cent, of their income, whichever is the greater. The only exemptions arc men who have enlisted, those where a majority of brothers are serving, or iho-w who are old aire nensioneM. -
