INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, Sept. 19. The following entrained for Trentham this morning: Messrs Curd, Hlne, McEwen. West, Hanover, and Luke. The Rev. E. L. Harvie addresed the men bejfore their departure, and each was presented with the usual parcel of camp comforts by Mrs. Allen, on behalf of the Ladies' Patriotic League. s The golf championship resulted in the veteran G. Gudgeon beating O'Carroll, S up and 6 to play in a 36 hole course. Gudgeon has been playing very consistently throughout the season, and hi s win was anticipiated. The runner-up has also been playing well and is a very much improved player. He started his golf in Ireland, and it wns predicted early in life that he would make a name for himself at the game, and it is expected that ere long he will have his | name on the championship board.
