OUR CASUALTIES.

DEAD NUMBER B*6l. "The casualties in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force up to and including September 3 '•nonbered 30,127," said the Minister of Defence in the House of Representatives on Tuesday. "This total comprises 8461 men killed in action, died of wounds, or died of disease, 49 missing, 97 prisoners of war, and 21,521 wounded." Tho Minister added that the men returned ta New Zealand up to the end of August numbered l'M93. Of this number 9450 men has been discharged or gazetted out of thj forces, 1260 had returned to duty at the front, 130 were i-'ttwaiting their return to duty, 281 were in 'hospital or homes, 240 wero outpatient, , 30 were on sick leave, 19 were on special leave, 14 had died, five had deserted, and one had got into prison.
