A MILITARY WEDDING.

A military wedding took place at the Sacred Heart Basilica, Hill street, Wellington, on Wednesday morning, when Miss Catherine OUonnell, of Manaia, Taranaki, wns married to Private Digby Leigh Tonks, P.E.A.S.C., Featherston Camp. The Rev. Father Smyth, S.M., performed the ceremony, and Miss IPut11am played the Wedding March as the bridal party walked down the aisle. The bride wore a gown of ivory georgette over soft satin. The skirt was finished with wide hem-stitched tucks, and the corsage of shadow lace was veiled with georgette and finished with a deep collar of lace. A court train hung from the shoulder, of cream and gold brocade satin, lined with palest pink ninon, and she wore a long tulle veil, fastened capfashion on her head, with a wreath of myrtle end orange blossoms. A beautiful shower bouquet was carried. The bridesmaids were the Misses M. O'Donnell and J. O'Donnell, sisters of the bride, who wore frocks of lavender taffetas, the skirts made with deep tucks, the bodices having touches of pale blue and pink ninon, and gold tissue at the waist and neck, veiled with lavender georgette: Their hats, of black tulle, were lightened with gold tissue lace on the brim and trimmed with a spray of French flowers, carrying out the colors on the gowns. They carried bouquets of cyclamen find freesias, tied with mauve and rose tulle. The bridegroom was attended by Sergeant P. J. Ryan as best man and Corporal E. M. Heap as groomsman. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was served in the drawing room of the Knipire Hotel. Mrs. O'Donnell, mother of the bride, who wore a costume of dull purple silk poplin, and a black hat with ospreys, received. Mrs. A. S. Tonks, of Hawera, mother of the bridegroom, wore a costume of blaek corded silk and hat en suite.
