THE LATE PRIVATE BISHOP.

To the Editor. Sir, —I have seen letters in the papers re the above, and would like to add my voice with regard to it. The late Private Bishop gave his life for King and country, although he came home to die, and 1 thiiik the least the military authorities might have done was to have given him a proper military funeral, with all the honors connected therewith. It matters not to the boy himself, but to his relatives and friends it would be a great source of comfort to know tho country appreciated his efforts. If the military laws will not allow a military funeral to a man becauso he has been discharged, the sooner those laws are amended the better. —I am. etc., A SOLDIER'S MOTHER.
