The fitting up, provisioning and repairs to the Maheno total £44,001. Other items include hire £07,318, maintenance (including total and stores purchased) £37.973; pay of stall' £22/i>2s; crew £20,757 total, £242,DGJ. The Manama's expenditure amounted to £485,237, made up thus: Fitting and provisioning in New Zealand, :CStf,4!)4; hire, .-07-0,301; maintenance. 0311,711; pay stall', £25,085; crew £23,722. The expenditure of money from private sources total £40.311, leaving a balance of £BBO2 in hand. The Government provided and maintained the ships, but private subscriptions provided voluntary workers and medical equipment.
