IN THE AIR.
THE RECENT AIR RAID. NUMEROUS CASUALTIES. London, Sept. 4. British official: Six aeroplanes participated in last night's raid. They proteede 1 from Chatham and dropped bombs on the Isle of Thanet, Sheorness and Chatham areas. There were no army casualties. One civilian was killed and six injured. The material damage was slight. Oar machines went up and the anti-air eraft guns fired without result. The Secretary of the Admiralty reports that during the raid 107 naval ratings were killed and SG wounded. A CHANCE BOMB. ACCOUNTS FOR BULK OF CASUALTIES. Received Sept. 5. 11.5 p.m. London, Sept. 4. Gotha aeroplanes bombed Chatham while hundreds of people were leaving the theatres. The bulk of the casualties were due to a ehanco bomb falling on the naval barracks. The raid lasted five minutes. | BOMBS ON LONDON. NO REPORTS OF DAMAGE AVAILABLE.
Received Sept. •>, 11.30 p.m. London, Sept. 5. Britisi official: A considerable number .of enemy aeroplanes crossed the southeast coast at eleven last night and dropped bombs on a number of places. Some machines readied the London district, where bombs were dropped. Xo reports of the damage have yet been received.
