DAIRY COMPANY MEETINGS.

MEREMERE. The twenty-second annual meeting was held at Ohangai.. on Saturday, Mr. D. J. Williams, chairman of directors, presiding. The report congratulated shareholders on another successful year as regards' prices, though the output was reduced owing to the drought and shrinkage due to necessary storage, the amount of butter-fat being less by 10 per cent, than last year. Last year, before the Government commandeered cheese, a certain quantity had been shipped and sold at a figure higher than the commandeered price This higher price has since been secured. There has been a considerable increase in the cost of manufacture, due piincipally to extra cost of rennet and requisites. Whey butter and creamery butter were both very satisfactory. A further payment will be available of 3.0 M per lb. .Shares have been takeu up in the Rennet Company, and it is hoped that suppliers will assist by saving v.'lls. In moving the adoption, the chairman said that last year's shrinkage was j general, nud tended to increase in fac-1 toried towards the coast. He referred, briefly to the agitation in market con-1 ditions, which culminated in the commandeering of the Dominion's output and to the necessity for incrcaseu storage. When surpluses were all available the pay-out would reach the satisfactory figure of Is OVid. It was proposed to put Id on to the price of spring butter und 2d on to autumn butter. Mr. Watts said that encouragement Bhould be given to suppliers to get in cowh in the spring by paying more than Is 5d for butter. After some short discussion the motion was carried. Messrs D. J Williams and J. Kerrisk were re-elected and Mr W r att was appointed to fill a vacancy. The chairman said that tho Bacon Company wanted the support of all dairy companies so that they could be assured of a large output. Mr. Boyle considered it right to support the undertaking. On hiss motion it was decided to take up shares on the basis of their output. It was unanimously resolved that the chairman's honorarium be fiit'd at £'so. It was decided that the amount to be drawn by directors for each meeting attended be l«s, as before. At a meeting of directors subsequently held, Mr. D. J. Williams was reelected chairman for the ensuing year.
