LILLIAN WALKER AS "KITTY MCKAY" TO-MORROW, ome exceptionally good films have been shown at the Empire Theatre recently, and in keeping with the high standard comes the Greater Vitagraph feature drama "Kitty Mackay," which will be screened to-morrow night only. The picture, which feature* Lillian Walker, is right oil' the beaten track of modern-day picture, dramas. There is a rich vein of humour and fun running through the story, happily relieving the heavier dramatic portions. Kitty Mackay is a Scots lassie who spends her girlhood days amongst the hjjtffter. Her reckless yet innocent escapsWßscverclj shock some of her dour IBid staid townsfolk. On a certain day a squiut of military come to the town where Kitty lives, and Kitty's roguish eye captures the heart of one of the officers. As it happens, this officer, the son of an English lord, is searching for Kitty tt> tell her thai he time has arrived when she is to go to London to take up her rightful position as a lady of title. So the destinies of the two are linked together. Family complications bring the first big cloml of trouble over Kitty's sunlit horizon. Everything looks black, and it is a broken-hearted Kitty who retsirns once again to her native town. All this is cleared away in the end. however, and Kitty and her English lord are left happy once more. Lillian Walker is at her best as the inimitably humorous Kitty. Altoaeiher the picture is one of the finest Viiagraph features seen hero for some lime, uwing to the big Olga iPetrova picture ''The Waiting Soul" booked for Friday and Saturday, this splendid programme will only be screen' cd Thursday night.
