DAIRY FACTORY COMPANIES.

TARIKI. The tenth annua! report of the Tariki Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., for tile year ended 30th June, records that cheese was made from September 3rd, 1010, to June !)th, 1917, amounting to !•">.') tons 1 cwt. lqi'. Butter was made during the remainder of the year, amounting to atons 9cwt. Oqrs. 41b. The first six shipments Home, amounting to 500 cases, were consigned to Collctt, Whitefield anil Co., but were taken over by the, Imperial Government on arrival. These have only been taken in the accounts .at the amount of advance, but it ; ,is' understood there will be a further payment) on account of •'... ..-, although no official has been received oh this point. Advances have been made during the cheese-mak-ing period amounting to Fid per lb of butter fat, and out of the surplus of £:'o3o 17s 3d the.directors have paid another 3d per lb of butter-fat amounting to £l7 !f> 10s 2d. They propose to pay another 2d per lb of butter-fat over that period on August 20th, amounting to £1143 13s Cd; which 'will leave a balance of £l7O 13s 7d. When a final settlement can be arrived at, the directors propose to make a further payment over the cheese period. Taking into consideration the small amount of share capital now being subscribed, owing to most of the shares taken up being fully paid, and with a view to reducing the liability to the Bank the directors recommend that a sum equal to y 4 d per lb of butter-fat supplied during the past year be charged against the surplus account and placed to a sinking fund. Cheese-making period.-—Milk received 3,355,4571b, butter-fat received 137,2411b. cheese made 342,500!b, average test '4.o'), lb of milk to lib cheese 0.75, lb of cheese to lib butter-fat 2.5. Payments, Is 3d per lb butter-fat, with something more to come. Butter-making period.—milk received , 2J0,7!)7U>, butter-fat received 10,5101b butter made 12,212, average test 4.10, lb of milk to lib butter 20.5, lb of butter to lib butter-fat 1.10. Payments, average 14.55 per lb of butter-fat. \
