Tie Minister for Railways stated in tlie House of Representatives on Friday night that it was quite possible that the Government might have to still further reduce the railway service. The industrial trouble in Australia made the coal supply uncertain, and the department could not depend on the coal supply in New Zealand. When coal supplies were available in Australia the Australian States would naturally bo supplied first.
