EVERYBODY'S.

KITTY GORDON'S GREAT SUCCESS. "VERA THE MEDIUM." Everybody's was again too sma-li to hold the great crowd that .sought to igain admission to view the new programme on Saturday night. Kitty Gordon is the star attraction in a brilliant World film '-Vera Jie Medium." This .-uperfcature is from tho vivid atory of Richard Harding Davis, and is just a> remarkable as a film drama as tho book which created such an extraordinary sensation. In searching for an explanation of the extraordinary mesmeric influence exerted by some women over mankind, all sorts of mysterious powers have been invoked, including mesmerism, and hi ancient times sorcery. Hence the strange title, "Vera, the Medium." The writer has fi.ved upon the nearest approach possible to an immovable male object for the siren to use arts upon. He is a middle-aged man with a family and happy home, but, subjected to every wile, daring trick and fascination device, he eventually falls. The lesson he receives is so severe, his disillusionment so complete, that the moral of the play reaches home with almost painful force. Jt is a tremendous dramatic conception, daringly done, and invested with' the most sumptuous setting. An equally fine photo-play of an entirely different nature is the exciting military drama by the Bluebiro. producers, "Behind the Lines." This oxcellent subject would be a powerful attraction alone, but coupled with "Vera, the Medium, 'provides one of the strongest programmes screened even at the house of noted big features. The same programme will be repealed to-night.
