Mainly by growing root crops for winter feed, and to a less extent some feed for summer and autumn fattening. The vast majority of the farmers in .New Zealand can easily increase the carrying capacity of their laud by the same means. A good crop of carrots, mangels, swedes or turnips will produce from, say, forty to seventy tons per acre. ,We grow a large acreage in carrots for seed each season. Now, in yellow carrots, we have perfected by selection onour own farms in New Zealand the finest type and stock to be had in any part of the world—Cooper's Giant Yellow. It is immense in size and cropping powers, and fine and clean in shape, with a wonderfully hieh percentage of dry matter. This splendid carrot gives added richness and color to the milk and cream.
