THE CENSOR'S EmMCiB. Auckland August 22. At the Postal iuquiry, John Clouston, the. censor, said that so far as his appointment in the Postal Department was concerned he was acting senior clerk. ITe received instructions regarding censorship from the deputy chief posts! censor at Wellington. He was not responsible to the post office. He received about 200 sealed envelopes at fl a.m. on Saturday, July 7, and released when ho received instructions from his superior officer in Wellington U.t, about 11 a.m. on the following Monday. The holding of letters was an act of tho censor. As a iprivate individual he received one of the circulars and submitted it to Wellington. Tho evidenco lias-con-cluded. !
