Representatives ot the butter producers interviewed Mr. Masse,* to-day, and offered to sell the whole output for the coming season to the Government at 1/5, the Government to arrange i'or shipment. Mr. Massey offered 1/3. Ue would pay to the producers any profits arising from British eales after (Inducting any loas on sales in the Dominion, He suggested Uie local retail price should not exceed 1/8, After discussion, Mr. Massey offered to pay 1/4, and said he would not agrch to meet the local loss from the Consolidated Fund, especially if the State took the shipping risk. The deputation withdrew to consider the proposition. ' GOVERNMENT PROPOSALS ACCEPTED. (By Wire. —Parliamentary Reporter). Wellington, This Morning.
