RUGBY ROAD. (From our own Correspondent.) A meeting of the suppliers of the. Rugby Road creamery, which, until quite lately, has been an adjunct of the Midhirst Dairy Factory, was held at the creamery on Tuesday 21st, when there wa? a large attendance. Mr. A. W. West wi' voted to the chair. The chairman stated that Mr. Hugh Baiiv, of New Plymouth. who had been acting as arbitrator between the suppliers and the main coirpany, v.'ould explain the position to them. This Mr. Baily at once did, and pointed out to the meeting that tile first thing to be done to carry out the resolution of former meetings, was to decide whether or no they would accept the terms offered by the Tariki Dairy Company, which terms he carefully explained, and empower him to complete the negotiations for that purpose. A show of hands was taken, when the motion, proposed by Mr. W. Kendrick, and seconded by Mr. R. Hancock, was declared carried. Then those present were' called on to sign the necessary agreements to give effect to that decision. •This was the signal for a deal of discussion, the chairman declaring he would not sign. He was, therefore, asked to vacate the chair, and Mr. U. Rumball was elected to preside. Even then there still appeared to be a deadlock. At last, however, the persuasive talents of Messrs Rumball, Kendrick and others overcame the prejudices of the doubtful one, their signatures were retained and harmony restored. Mr. Baily, therefore has been entrusted with the final settlement of the business, and the Rugby Road creamery becomes a part of the Tariki Dairy Factory.
