THE EFFICIENCY BOARD.
WILL NOT WORK WITHOiKF POWER By Wire,—Parliamentary Reporter. Wellington, Last' Sight. The position of the National Efficiency Board is still uncertain, .us far as Ministerial statements go. The fact, is that itnembers of the Board have 1 indicated v to the Government that thqy are not prepared to carry on under present conditions. They do not 'tliink it worth •fhilo to prepare recommenciijons that the Government does not accept', but they are willing to complete ilia w.oik that they have in hand at tiho present time, and the Minister would be glad to retain their service in a purely advisory capacity. The resignations aia bound to tako effect., presently, as tlu> business men forming fhe board will uq& ivork without power, tutd Use Government will not yield them any power.,
