Despite the wet day buyers turned up, and a good sale resulted, sundries and impl«monts also selling well. Cows, small and threetesters £8 os to £9, good early sorts £l2 to £lB 10s (average for herd £l3 10s) ; aged gelding 50s, mare £l2, sow £5, store pigs 2G$ to 275, fowls 2s 9d; tine harrows 37s fir. chain harrows £-4 Os. discs £7 lis Gd, Donald jack £'4< 15s, cake £8 10s, mower £S 10s, f.f drill £3G, chaff-cutter £3, Planet jr. 255, spring cart £7 ss, gig £5 ss, dogcart £lO, separator £3 9s, milk tans 28s to 345. sledge 225. covers 10s to 26s Gd.
On Friday, 10th August, we hold our usaul monthly sale in our Te Wera yards. We had a fair yarding, and most lilies changed hands at ruling rates. Old in calf cons £3 to £S 10s, fat and for\vnrd ewe, 34s 3d, ewes in lamb 2Ss Sd, old owes *22s. 4-tooth wethers 31s (id, lambs 10s 8d to 23s 2d. Our next sale at these yards will be held on Friday, September 7.
On Tuesday, 14th August, we op'ened our springing heifer sale at 12.30 p.m. The heifers offering were a little backward, and owing to the unprecedented storm then raging, few buyers attended and few animals changed hands. We sSn.ll continue these sales on alternate Tuesdays at 12.30 in future. Since we last reported we have Bold n large number of stock privately. BURNSIDE. Burnside.—The demand was exe<>c-\ing-v keen, and prices advanced 10s. per lead. Best bullocks, £2O to £22 10s; ,'>:tra £25 17s (Id; good, £lB to £l9 !0s; medium, £ls to £lO.
