THE OMATA SEWING GUILD. The Omata Sewing Guild's appeal to the people of Omata district for Christinas gifts for the Omata men on active service has so far met with a gratifying response. Members will be kept very busy preparing and packing the parcels during the next three weeks, and will be glad of extra help on Wednesday afternoons. Those who wish to donate money or comforts are asked to do so before Thursday, August 23. Socks, tobacco or cigarettes (must be in tins), and sweets are tho articles now most required, although any gift mentioned in the Jist will be acceptable, following arc the names of those who have contributed milk, cocoa, tobacco, cpffeo and milk, and many other articles which will bo much appreciated by the men, and for which the guild is very grateful: Mesdames Carr, Holmes, Mathews, Moore, Miller, Kendal, Edwin George, Kurth, Warren, Fenwick, E. Bayly, W. Mace, Swanwick, Kidd, Were, Hart, Riordan, H. Loveridge, E. Hunt, Waller, Quickfall, Drummond, Roulston, Adamson; Misses Wells, Moore, M. Moore, I. Mathews, P. Mathews, E. Sugden, M. Hughes; Masters Percy Holmes, Bert Mathews, Brian Hughes, Desmond Hughe.:, Bernard Moore, and Nelson Moore. The guild also thanks, on behalf of tiie men, those who have donated money for comforts, postage, etc., and as the postage will necessarily be rather ■i heavy item, they will -welcome further sums for this purpose.
