Amsterdam, Aug. 13. The British fire was intense at tii-i week-end, and windows rattled day and night in the south of Holland. Train loads of wounded are traversing Belgium and the hospitals at, (ihent, Bruges and Brussels are full. Reinforce, moiils of vouths of eighteen are arriving to fill the gaps. A regiment of Bavarians whicli is stationed at Blankenbergh suffered grievously at Weatlioek. One battalion had only eighty men unwounded.

ENEMY ATTACKS FAIL.
London, Aug. 13. A French communique says: The artillery is active between Cerny and Craonne, notably in the sector south of Ailles, where a German fittack on the trenches we captured on August 11 was "(■pulsed with heavy losses. Two enemy surprise attacks, in the Hois de Caur» ieres and at Bczonvanx, failed.
