HUNTING.
1 The North Taranaki Hunt wish to apologise for not holding the hunt at Egmont Village last Thursday. It was only at the last moment that- the executive received word that it was impossible to hunt in the district owing to the number of lambs, consequently there was no alternative but to abandon the meet. On Thursday next the hunt will be held at the master's, Mr. A. H. llalcombe's, T'remii. This will be the final hunt of the season, and it will not he the master's fault if it is not among the best. Those who were fortunate enough 'to he at l.'renui last year will not forget the pleasant day spent, and 110 doubt ■will nvike an effort to again be present oil Thursday.
The committee of the Tlpnt contemplate holding a point-to-point steeplechase, details of which will he di.- ud on Thursday next, and, if favorable, a day lixed and the necessary application made for holding same.
