SUICIDES AT THE CAMPS.

STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER. (By Wire. —Parliamentary Reporter). Wellington, Last Night. The total number of suicides in the New Zealand military camps had been eleven, said the Minister of Defence. Three of the suicides had occurred in 1910. The matter had been very thoroughly investigated, and it appears that in all military camps suicides are more numerous than in ordinary civilian lite. The Minister added that the military statistics of all countries showed the suicide rate was higher among the military population than among civilians. Ii England and Wales civilian suicides were at the rate of 1.07 per 10.000, while military suicides were at the rate of 3.79' per 10,000. The English ratio of civilian to military suicides was 100 to 227.
