PUBLIC NOTICES. NATIONAL EFFICIENCY BOARD OF NEW ZEALAND. NEW PLYMOUTH BOARD OF TRUSTEES. (Messrs. T. Furlong, chairman, E. Whittle, and F. J. Hijl).
THE Trustees desire to impress upon
the inhabitants of our town and district the necessity for organising Women's Labor, so that it may be promptly available when required. In the Home Country women have lonj been rendering most valuable service in the manufacture of munitions of war and the performance of other duties, enabling men to join the colors, as well as in the production of foodstuffs. With the calling up of the Second Division many avenues of useful employment will become open to the women of Taranakt, and the Trustees will now be glad to enrol the names of all who will be prepared to help the Empire and our Allies by undertaking, when the need arises, such work as milking, gardening, the lighter forms of farm labor, motor and delivery cart driving, tram conducting, clerical labor, shop assistants, and anjk' other dnties (which they may themselves suggest) calculated to set men free for active service in the fighting line. A Register has been opened by the Hon. Secretary of the Trustees (Mr. F. J. Hill), who will be in attendance at the Efficiency Board's Office (Mr. F. P. Corj kill's Chambers) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next, 13th, 14th and loth instants, between the hours of 3 and 5 p.m., for the purpose of the enrolment of all patriotic women who are prepared and desirous of "serving the State in any of the occupations mentioned above.
