SALE OF MR. 11. STONEX'S HEED.
At the Rahotu saleyards on Wednesday Mr. Newton lung held Mr. H. Stoucx's sale of pedigree Jersey cattle. Although there were only 23 head to be sold there was a big attendance of buyers from all parts of Taranaki. The cattle were catalogued by Mr. Stonex in neat form and yarded in good condition considering that Mr. Stonex's farm is situated at the top of the Xahni Road and on a level with the Forest Reserve. Uecognising that this was a genuine dispersal sale buyers soon got busy and I'ood bidding was obtained right through the sale. The highest price obtained was 53 guineas for a seven-year cow, Lady Princess 4th. by Dalesman (imp.), {.ill of Lady Princess 2nd. and purchased by Mr. Harry Sahvay, Bell Block. The ten-year-old bull K See 7th. by K.C.1)., out of Primrose 33rd (a Silver King cowl, wa.s purchased by Mr. J. IL Street, of Bell Block, to head his herd, at "1 guineas. The purchaser must be considered Inky to get this bull away from the coast as he has left some great (h.iry stock round that p.irt of Taranaki. The following is a full list of sales:— COWS.
