M;. Donald .Fraaer, one of the earliest settlers in the K&ngitikei, died at his residence near Bulls on Saturday, at the age of 82. Mr. O. Farley, at present manager of the Bivertlale factory, has been appointed general manager of the K&uflKjkdmli Dairy Factory Company, in succession to air. McDonald. Mr. G. A. Adlam, of Qakura, is, we regret to learn, an inmate of the hospital, having been brought in yesterday morning. A Palmerston North presß message reports the death on Sunday morning, suddenly, of Mr. John MoQuilliam, an old resident, aged 73. Among the list of casualties appearing in this morning's paper appears the name; of Private E. L. F. Norman, a wellknown Mangorei settler, Who is reported to have died of wounds. At yesterday's meeting of the Taratiaki County Council the chairman, Mr. J. Coimett, was appointed their representative on the New (Plymouth technical College Advisory Committee. Tn Saturday's casualty, list tho name of Private W. J. jtoss (Sirs. J. Ross, iHawera), of the Canterbury Infantry regiment, who was killed in action on June 7.
