SOME STAGGERING FBJISRES. Much has been heard in Parliament relative to reducing the cost of Government printing and stationery. Members have advanced various opinions as to the possible reduction of these fifeurea. The figures contained in the estimates of expenditure presented to the House of Representatives on Wednesday night. The total cost for the year of printing and stationery was £152,015, the sum voted being £136,715. The estimates for the coming year is £151,4*25, minus estimated credits under section 48 of the Public Revenue Act. These »iuns are reduced respectively to £21,£31,715, and ££1,423 respectively. The largest contribution to the t|ig totals is that of stationery, paper, and office requisites £97,755, the estimate being £43,000. This year's estimate is £54,000.
