CHARGED WITH MURDER.

BOYS AGED 8 AND 10. Thames, August 3. Two boys concerned in the recent drowning of Irene Quinn, a little, .girl ftged six, 1 were charged with murder before Sir. Pago, S.M., to-day. The accusal are Ernest- Claude Gibbons (aged eight) and Richard Reihana (aged ten), The evidence, as at the inquest, shoved that three children were seen near the bank of the Kirikiri creek on July 19. Subsequently the boys were seen going home without the girl. Her clothes were later found on the bank. The girl was unable to undress herself. Her body was recovered next day. The bov3, when questioned, made statements incriminating each other. Counsel contended that thero was no direct evidence, to justify sending the boys to trial. The magistrate considered it a ease for a jury, and committed the children for trial at Auckland 011 August 13. They were admitted to bail.
