SOLDIERS' CLUB.
MONTHLY REPORT, The following ladies acted as hostesses during July:—Mesdames Hughes, -Burgess, R. A. Cray, Eberlet, Cruickshank, Svanlon, Hill, Perev .Tacktsjin, A. B. Mackie, F. Hooker," J. White, Knight, I'argic, Waugh; Misses Capel, Sole, Purdue and Hartneli. About 230 guests have been served, including those at Sunday teas and occasional suppera. Very handsome donations, which are gratefully acknowledged, have been received, including ft chesterfield suite from the Urenui Rille Club, snooker set from "A Soldier's Friend"; also gold medal from Mr. Roberts and silver rose bowl i'rom Mr. Garnham to be used as prizes for billhvd tournaments. Monetary donations amounting to £3 los have been received from the Red 'Post, weekly subscribers, and Central School (Standard 111, £l, and 'Standard 11\, ss). The management and committee wish to thank all kind donors, also friends for gifts of cake and tea, and those ladies who have provided afternoon tea during the month. The August list is now ready and Mr?. Burgess Avonld be glad to receive names of ladies willing to act as hostesses. MOTHERS' DAY. The members of the Xew Plymouth Soldiers' Club will be "at home" to all soldiers' mothers on Saturday afternoon, August. 11, this being the first ariniveiv sary of the opening of the club. .. .; Tho committee would ask every soldier's mother in town or country to take '•this invitation especially to herself, aS they feel it would be quite impossibly ' to get in touch with each one persoriallyj
