(Uuwera branch) report :w follows: Kakaramoa.—Medium fat cows £lO 5s to £l2 9s, forward cows £7 10s to £9, 2-year-old heifers £7 10s, boners and potters £2 10s to £5 las. There was no demand for weaners. On the same day we sold dairy herds on account of Mr P. \S. Gilligan (<Patca) and Mr Charles Bodge (Kakaramea). The herd of 32 belonging to Mr Gilligan averaged £l2 19s, and that of Mr Hodge £lO 13s. Prices were: Good conditioned early calvers £l3 to £l7 ss, later sorts £9 5s to £l2, backward sorts £9.
On July 2-ftli, at Tokaora, we held, !©n account of Mr Montague Rudkin, a successful clearing sale' of pedigree •dairy cows, including several pedigree Holsteins. Prices for the pedipv >o cattle and buyers were:—One cow (Patience of Brundee) 82 guineas, H. E. Johnson; Milkmaid of Brundee, 57 guineas. Chas. Mayhcad; Pagmar, 40 guineas, Chas. Mayhcad; Countess Maid, 20 guineas, IT. E. Johnson; one heifer (Manea Dekol) 14'/, guineas, Mrs Mary Dawson; one bull ('President Pietergie) 45 guineas, one bull (Colantha Manor Lad) 13 guineas, one bull Colantha Starlight) 40 guineas. The herd, which were in good condition, realised as follows: Earlv ealvers £lO to £2l, later calvers £l4"to £ls, heifers £7 7s Gd to £lO. The line averaged £l7 odd. Eltham— Fat ewes 30s 4d to 32s 7(1, good forward ewes 2Ss 3d, forward conditioned wethers 33s to 34 fld, hoggets (mixed scx'es) 20s 9d to 22s Gd, aged ewea las Gd. Forward conditioned cows £9 5s to £ll 15s, backward sorts £7 to £8 12s Gd. low conditioned £4 to £5, weaners (mixed sexes) £4 to £4 3s, steers £4 2s, springing heifers £7, bulls £7 17s Gd, store pigs 14s to 21s, slips 12s, pedigree boar 3J guineas. At Tokaora, on July 25th, we held a very successful clearing sale of dairy cows, etc., on account of Mr Montague Rudkin, the herd of 40 odd, which was in good condition, averaging £lO 7s. .Stratford yards on Tuesday, we had a 'lood yarding of entile. Competition was good and pries were fully up to late quotations. At Tnglewood yards on Thursday, there was a full yardini' of both cattle and sheep, and a good clearance was .mede at the hfimincr. The in-calf heifers on account of Messrs Cox Bros, sold at from £7 to £lO ss, and on account of other vendors cows and heifers sold at from £lO to £lO 10s.
On Thursday we held a clearing sale on account of Mr W. Pederson, MidIrrst. The cows were a choice lot and sold well. The best dairy cows.sold at from £l4 to £l7, others £lO 5s to £l3 PK averaging £l3 13s, heifers £ll ti> £l4. On Thursday we held a clearing sale on account of Mr B. Booker, Lowgarth. There was a large attendance of buyers, ami a most successful sale was held. The best dairy cows sold at from £ls Ids to £22, others £0 10s to £l4, averaging £ls Us.
