DAMAGE AT WELLINGTON*. By Telegraph.—Tress Association. Wellington. July 20. Practically continuous rain duriiiL' Patuidav and Sunday caused a pood deal of'minor damage, small slips and wa-h-outs in various parts of thecity. A larfje slip on the city side of the Karori tunnel completely blocked tr.un traffic. Fortunately the roadway wav clear at the lime, and no one was hurt. A thunderstorm and violent trale parsed over Wellington just before mid-dav on Sumiav. The hridw at the back of the Horokiwi Valley was washed awiiv by the torrents rushinjl down from the kurroundin'/ hills. A larjre quantity of milk destined for the Wellington' City sui.plv was thus unable to rca"eli the 'railway, consequently many homes in the city were without milk this morning.
