The Financial Statement will, in till probability, be brought down on Wednesday, certainly not later than Friday. The Excess Profits Tax disappear*, this tax had worked inequitably, both ift town and country, and no attempt is being made to modify or amend It. The tax will be replaced by heavy Imposts on income and land to produce the same revenue. There is no news yet #s to whether the Government intends to impose luxury taxes through the tariff, but these are not impossible, ft is practically certain there will be no customs duties on commodities in general use. There will bo no taxes to increase the cost of living.
